Winter Holiday Stroll in Warren, Rhode Island
We are in the final countdown, folks. And it’s around this time when I’ve just about crossed off all the things on my list (ok, nowhere near, but perhaps I’ve just surrendered at this point), and I try to take some time to soak up the hustle and bustle a bit without being part of it per se. Andrew and I have created a little tradition of bopping around our neighboring town or Warren, Rhode Island for a cocktail (or two) and a good meal while stopping in to pick up any last minute odds and ends. It’s kind of wonderful, and will be even more so now that Henry is along for the ride.
We’ve had such a cold December, so that means layers upon layers here in New England. Some people hate it, but I find layering so fun. It’s like a fun puzzle to put together, even better when all the layers are lovely ones from Joules. This navy coat is a nice escape from my traditional black puffy coat routine I’ve been stuck in for years. And wearing a dress always feels brave in the winter - but this little number is so comfy it’s better than your favorite pair of leggings.
Another favorite look for bopping around in holiday style is this equestrian-inspired get up that I just adore. If you didn’t know, I was a barn rat for most of my youth. One of those “horse girls”. Horses were my life, and although I don’t have the time to be at the barn these days (for now!) I can at least look the part. I’m always such a fan of this kind of look - and this jacket is officially my new favorite. The details are to die for.
I stopped by this adorable little tree farm (which just so happens to be an awesome taco spot in the summer!) to pick up a tree for “my” birds (if you follow me on instagram, you saw this all go down). It’s such a darling little place, and now I’m trying to figure out if I need anymore Christmas trees for the house. How many trees are too many again? I’ve lost count.
I really want to do a full East Bay Guide at some point, but Warren deserves its own little highlight. This town has really come into its own, and I’m proud to get to watch it happen across the river. Here are a few of our go-to spots (and by go-to, we are there all the time).
