Henry's Classic Birth Announcement by Papermoss
Ok, first let me just say that I know letterpress can read as a bit much for a birth announcement. But ya’ll, I waited a long time for this moment, and I wanted to shout it from the rooftops in true Abby Capalbo style. Which totally calls for letterpress. Plus I love that it’s a keepsake, something we can display or frame, or something I can hold in my hand and cry over when he goes to college. All very important. I knew I wanted to work with my good friend Emily at Papermoss (she also did our wedding invites, which we loved) - so the minute we announced we were expecting, Emily started working away.
Emily knows how my crazy brain works, and she knows what I like without even me having to say anything. Which is really helpful when you have full pregnancy brain and can’t form sentences. I knew I wanted something classic, and I knew I wanted a monogram that could grow with him a bit. And I wanted it to be something that reflected us before him. The little sailboat with the golden at the bow couldn’t have been more perfect. I officially want to plaster it on anything that isn’t moving.
We did a sweet wave-inspired belly band so his name would have a “reveal” moment, but it also held two of the photos our wedding photographer, Leila Brewster, shot on film when he was so tiny (more of those coming soon). That was so special to me. Everything coming full circle.
A face like that just needed a big announcement, don’t you think? Letterpress was the least I could do.
