Casual Autumn Dinner Party with Nantucket Looms
I really love this time of year. Now, I know I say that about most times of year (except maybe that late March - early May here in New England, that is a time I could do without) - but autumn in New England is just about as good as it gets. It calls for all things cozy and comforting, and just makes you want to find any excuse to gather people together. And this year happens to be even more special since we are expecting a little one any day now.
We’ll be doing things a tad differently this fall since we’ll have a newborn in tow, but I feel like these types of super low key dinners will be my go to for the next few years. Who are we kidding? They’ve always been my jam. And when they are perfectly appointed with all things Nantucket Looms, you really can’t go wrong.
This is the kind of dinner where you can just encourage your guests to bring a particular course, forage the decor from your yard (or around town, I won’t judge), and then just invite people over who add to any evening. Nothing is overdone. I truly believe the biggest tip for any dinner party is inviting people who make entertaining easy. We are so lucky to have so many friends who truly make any evening (and help clean - which is also amazing).
And while I know our dinner parties this fall might just be for a party of three (ok five if you include the dogs, and we definitely do), that kind of sounds amazing to me. I’m so looking forward to all things cozy the next few months.
