There is no denying that summer on Nantucket is pure magic. But Fall? Fall is the real gem on the island. Can we keep that between us? It’s a time when the tourists have returned to their busy lives, yet the water is warm and the weather is perfect. September and October on Nantucket? Now that’s where some special island splendor goes down.

Fall on Nantucket means beach days and cool nights by the fire. It means walking into your favorite restaurant without worrying about having a reservation a month before. It’s a chance to really get to the soul of Nantucket. Minus the traffic and the noise. It’s a chance to chat it up with the locals. A chance to feel like a local yourself. A chance to go scalloping or spend the day in a cranberry bog. Really the options are endless, and I got to experience a little of that September dreaminess during my recent stay at Harborview Nantucket.

One of the things I loved most about Harborview Nantucket is the feeling that you had your own little piece of Nantucket right in the center of town. Our cottage opened up to our own private deck overlooking a perfectly manicured lawn and gorgeous views of the harbor. Add a full kitchen, fireplace, dining table, etc. - and I honestly would just live here forever if they let me. Did I mention it was dog friendly? The sweet pup in these pictures belongs to Matt and Morag, the general managers of the property, and he’s such a good boy!

I’m already planning future trips where I can really soak up the sweetness of this property with my (growing!) family. It really is the perfect place to truly feel at home when you on island. Thank you Harborview Nantucket for having us!
